HOW TO PACK A CARRY-ON LIKE A PRO!

Heading off on a grand adventure? Only want to take a carry-on and a personal item on the plane? Afraid that you’ll have too much to squeeze into your suitcase? Not to worry, I GOT YOU!

HERE’S A LIST OF MY BEST TIPS FOR PACKING A CARRY-ON LIKE A PRO!

Pick your Carry-on Bag
Make sure that your carry-on suitcase size fits within the correct dimensions that are allowed by the airline carrier that you’ll be flying with.
If you’re looking for a new one -> I love this Kenneth Cole 20-inch Carry-On - It' fits everything I need and more and goes with me on all of my adventures! I have the Rose Gold version.

Avoid Overpacking
Lay everything out that you think want to bring, and then put about half of it away. My example list below is for about 1 week of travel to an all-inclusive in the Caribbean. I really try to pack minimally and plan all of my outfits ahead of time so I don’t overpack. If this seems incredibly hard for you THAT’S OKAY! Practice makes perfect.
1 hat
2-3 bathing suits
2-3 pairs of shoes - wearing your heaviest on the plane
3 pairs of pants/shorts (depending on your location)
4 shirts
2 gym outfits
4 dresses (for the ladies who like to change it up for dinner on vacay)
5 pairs of socks
7-8 pairs of underwear
Toiletries
Makeup - be real about what you’re actually going to wear
Hair brushes and styling accessories

Toiletries
Be sure that your liquids are below the TSA 3.4 Ounce rule before trying to bring anything onboard. If you have something over 3.4 ounces they will ask you to discard it during your security check.
•You can read through all of their policies HERE.
Utilize smaller toiletries for the amount of time you’ll be traveling. For example, I bought a reusable perfume dispenser that you can load up before you leave for your trip - pictured below - it’s definitely not my favorite but I still use it - you can order it online HERE and see for yourself. I also use reusable toiletry bottles so that I could bring my favorite shampoo, conditioner, face wash and my favorite sunscreen along!
•I suggest you have a travel toiletry bag so that you can pack everything in one place and hang it on a door or hanger for easy access.
•Be honest and real with yourself with how much and of what you’ll need.
Ziploc Bags are great for just about everything hahaha and to protect your clothing from any leaks that may happen.

Packing Cubes
These Compression Packing Cubes by Tripped have been such a saving grace for all of my trips! I usually use a mix of the rolling method and folding my clothes to fit everything into the packing cubes.
•I use the packing cubes to compress the clothes down and to keep them organized and I also use unused spaces - like my shoes - to stuff socks or smaller items.

Personal Item
•Make your Most Important Travel Documents Easy to Reach
•I usually have a personal item with me that fits under my seat in case my carry-on needs to be checked
(Yes this happens because everyone and their Mother tends to bring a carry-on suitcase now - so the overhead bin space gets filled up fast!)
•So what I usually have in my personal item is my camera gear, my passport, wallet, cell phone, laptop, earbuds, hand sanitizer, medicine, 1 change of clothes and snacks. These are all within reachable distance and convenient for me to grab. That way if your carry-on does get checked for some reason you have everything you need for immediate use in your personal item.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT!
